Mikes Cap 232
By Mike Phillips 9/17/2006 10:51:58 AM
The 80" Cap has been optimized by Mike McConville with larger control surfaces and more wing area for lower wing loading, improved control authority and stability. It features all wood construction with prepainted fiberglass cowl and wheel pants that match the scale Alitalia trim scheme with UltraCote® pearl purple, white, red, and black trim scheme.
The Cap features a one-piece bolt-on wing with two Hitech aileron servos (one for each aileron), two Hitech elevator servos, and a hitech hitorque metal gear single-rudder servo. Construction quality is excellent and very light.
The plane is powered by a 50cc Desert Aircraft DA50R. Attached on the front to put the power in the air is a Mezlick 22x8 Prop capped with a Polished Tru-Turn Spinner.
This plane was originally built by Tony (For those of you who remember him!). He and his son assembled the airframe. The plane was purchased without the gear or engine. Mike added the DA50, Futaba reciever.
The planes plumbing was replaced with a dubro tank all fuel plumbing was replaced as well. Capping off the fuel is a cute little hanger 9 fuel dot!
