The Three Rules of RC Flying:
|

Scott
|
- Altitude is your friend. Two to three mistakes high is recommended for all new flyers.
- A compound rule.
Should you select (a) then (b) must follow
- Takeoffs are optional.
- Landings are mandatory!
- Regardless of age, experience, quality of equipment or skill level ... at some point in time you WILL crash your plane.

Fly with others? ....
-
Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Membership.
Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) Membership. Pilots should be members of
the Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) and comply with all AMA
regulations for powered airplanes and helicopters. If you do not
have an AMA membership, it can be obtained online by visiting
their website at Academy of Model Aeronautics. Please fly responsibly
with the safety of yourself and others in mind at all times.
- Please park on the west side of the street to give the bikers the road and for safety of bikers and pedestrians.
- Always check frequencies when arriving at a field to ensure your transmitter frequency is not shared with another pilot. Do not turn on your radio and put someone elses plane in the ground prior completing this check. Simply walk the line of other pilots and verify your channel is not in conflict. Asking "what channel are you on?" and letting the other pilots know yours is very helpful.
- Never fly over the flight line or spectators with your airplane. The flight line is where the pilots stand while flying their aircraft.
- Respect other pilots when two or more aircraft are in the air by taking off in the same direction and following the flight pattern. Flying reverse flight patterns can cause accidents and no one wants to lose a plane!
- Spend a moment or two picking up after yourself. Aircraft parts from fallen models, prop halves, rubber bands, the occasional empty beverage container and cigarette butts and other items left.
